Let’s Discover: Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier

What a start that was! Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier officially opened its doors on 8 April 2025 with an exclusive opening ceremony in front of around 650 invited guests including Dr Peter Tschentscher, Lord Mayor of Hamburg, and URW CEO Jean-Marie Tritant. The centre then officially opened to the public with performances, DJ sets, fireworks and lots of surprises. Things really got off to a flying start!

But that’s not all: this was immediately followed by the Discovery Days from 9 to 11 April – a multi-day experience for young and old showing off the new centre at its most exciting. Naturally, the Gang was in the thick of things – and WOW! We were totally blown away by the response from visitors.

In our own pop-up store, the Westfield Rise Lounge on the Lower Ground Floor, we were on hand to answer any questions about the centre, enabling visitors to look around and immerse themselves – in face-to-face conversations, in guided tours through the centre and, quite simply, in a spontaneous visit to the lounge.

The Discovery Days were thus the perfect environment for experiencing the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier in all its glory. Whether shopping, entertainment, culinary delights or innovation, there was something for every taste and every age group. For us, it was the ideal opportunity to engage in dialogue with partners, local colleagues and all interested parties, to answer questions and make the vision behind the neighbourhood tangible for all.

After three days at the venue, we reckoned the opening and the Discovery Days didn’t just whet people’s appetite for more, they were also the perfect opportunity for us to experience the centre actively and up close. The first Best Case is already ready to roll – with a whole lot more to come!
