The Gang at IAA in Munich

25 | 09 | 25

For two of our ‘Gang’ colleagues, the second week of September began with a mixture of anticipation and something of an urge to travel. And so it was that, equipped with coffee mugs and a packed agenda, Kathi and Stef headed south. Their destination was Munich – the Munich Exhibition Centre to be precise – where they attended one of the largest trade shows in Germany: IAA MOBILITY 2025, the international motor show formerly known as IAA.

A very successful début

Westfield Rise was breaking new ground here, making its first visit to IAA Mobility. Kathi and Stef wasted no time at all and immediately threw themselves into the fray, spending Day 1 exploring the lively IAA Open Space, which transformed Munich’s city centre into a world of experience, and moving on the following day to the business-oriented IAA Summit in the exhibition halls. At both locations they were able to connect with numerous well-known and up-and-coming car brands and discover a lot of innovations in the mobility sector.

Among other things, their discussions with Asian manufacturers, who surprised us with pioneering concepts, proved intriguing. Highlights included flying taxis (potentially coming to a city near you) and a Chinese vehicle featuring meditation and massage functions, which Kathi and Stef put through its paces extensively.

Networking and inspiration

The two immersed themselves in both worlds, holding inspiring conversations with potential partners and gathering ideas on how to make automotive brands even more tangible in future. In the end, they gathered a host of impressions, made valuable contacts and came away with a major sense of anticipation for the follow-up discussions and resulting promotions. Between futuristic concept cars, sustainable mobility solutions and a host of creative encounters, one thing is certain: this trip was worth every kilometre.

Did you know? Automotive is a core sector for Westfield Rise – with impressive achievements such as the fact that automotive experiences generate 5 to 15 concrete leads per week, examples being a recently opened store in the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia selling 18 cars in its first week, and a BYD promotion in 2025 at Westfield Les Quatre Temps attracting over 55,000 people in just 10 days.
